Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the Englert LeafGuard gutter work? The scientific principle of liquid adhesion causes rainwater to cling to the gutter hood, then fall in the gutter trough and flow out via the downspout. The narrow opening between the hood and the gutter helps prevent debris from entering the gutter.

2. Does LeafGuard work in a heavy rain? Yes indeed! LeafGuard gutters have been proven effective in laboratory tests simulating more than 21 inches of rainfall per hour!

3. Can Englert LeafGuard be installed on existing gutters? No. LeafGuard is not an add-on product, but a seamless, one-piece system attached to the fascia board of your home with strong, specially fabricated internal brackets.

4. In what lengths do LeafGuard gutters come? Any length you need! LeafGuard is a seamless gutter that is roll-formed to custom lengths on site and then custom fit just for your home.

5. How much does Englert LeafGuard guttering cost compared to regular open-top gutters? LeafGuard does cost more than standard open-top gutters. Of course, once you factor in the time and headache savings of eliminating gutter cleaning (or the expense, if you pay someone else to do it), the value of LeafGuard gutters becomes clear. Also, in many cases, a complete LeafGuard guttering system costs less than an add-on gutter covers for regular open-top rain gutters.

6. Is my roof too steep for the LeafGuard seamless gutter system? Not at all. LeafGuard works well no matter the pitch of your roof. In fact, the  steeper the roof, the better our gutters perform.

7. You mean nothing will get in Englert LeafGuard gutter system? Most debris gets into a conventional gutter when it is not raining. The Englert LeafGuard gutter deflects dry debris almost entirely. Our gutters are engineered to minimize debris accumlation when it rains, too, and what little debris does get in the system is flushed out of the 3"x4" downspout.

8. Why is LeafGuard’s one-piece construction important? With no moveable parts, the LeafGuard system provides superior protection against wind and storm damage. A common problem of multi-piece gutters and leaf-free gutter covers is debris entering the gutter from behind. Our seamless construction eliminates this possibility.

9. What is the Englert LeafGuard Guarantee? The Englert LeafGuard gutter is guaranteed not to clog with leaves, pine needles, or other organic debris for as long as you own your home.

10. Will LeafGuard alter the appearance of my house? Only to enhance it! Many LeafGuard customers comment on how their new gutters help beautify their home. The low profile design blends in with your cornice and won’t interfere with your roof or re-roofing.

11. How sturdy is the LeafGuard gutter system? As sturdy as they come. We use .032 aluminum, approximately 20% thicker than conventional rain gutters. Our .025 gauge downspouts, exclusive to LeafGuard, are the strongest on the market today. For superior security, the gutter is screwed to the fascia board every two feet with internal hanging brackets.
